Life Beyond Work

Outside the world of marketing dashboards and growth curves, I’m simply someone who loves the joy of discovery — whether that’s through travel, sport, or shared experiences.

I’m married to an incredible partner who keeps me grounded and reminds me that life is about more than just KPIs and ROAS. We love exploring new places, and my happiest days are when we’re lost in a new city or sharing a quiet meal somewhere off the beaten path or sometimes even just sitting together on the couch at home and watching our favorite shows (The Big Bang Theory, Friends, How I Met Your Mother, Modern Family or a random movie etc).

Watching a movie is a family spirit, one that my wife does not share but does not sit out. I’ve watched all kinds of movies from the great ones to the terrible ones. While movies are made for entertainment, I try and see if there’s something I can learn or take away. It can be as simple as trying to notice my wife more to give her a surprise (I’m terrible at giving surprises) or noticing the pain my parents are having and giving them a massage. But one that’s stayed with me all these years is the line from Rocky Balboa;

“The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It’s a very mean and nasty place, and I don’t care how tough you are, it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard you hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward; how much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done! Now if you know what you’re worth, then go out and get what you’re worth, but you gotta be willing to take the hits, and not pointing fingers saying you ain’t where you wanna be because of him, or her, or anybody.”

This one line drives me every time.

Cricket is my first sporting love — growing up watching Sachin Tendulkar and the hardwork, patience and having to wait 22 years for a World Cup reminds me constantly that nothing comes easy. You have to get up and grind, every day, every single time, through situations where you do not want or are uncomfortable. When it comes to Formula 1, though, I switch unapologetically to red — a hardcore Ferrari fan through all the highs and heartbreaks (yes, I still believe we’re due a Championship).

I also enjoy working out and trying to stay in shape — though like many, I’ve fallen on and off that wagon. But for me, it’s about the mindset: discipline, consistency, and self-improvement, whether that’s fitness or life itself.

At the end of the day, I believe great conversations and human connections are what matter most. If we ever meet — let’s talk about cricketing moments, F1 rivalries, travel bucket lists, or just life beyond the 9-to-5. I’d love to hear your story, too.
